A teenager’s room is more than a bedroom

It’s an office, a lounge room and an entertaining space, too. So you’ll need to make the most of every centimetre of floorspace. With a loft bed, or bunk bed your teen can sleep on the top level, leaving room for a desk or seating below. Another option is to use a folding bed.

At this age, all the colour and pattern

Move off the bed and onto the wall. Replace the printed bed sets with more neutral linen and encourage your teenager to choose something decorative for the walls – or better still, get them to create something. Or they can hang a work of art, vinils, graphic decals or apply an adventurous paint colour.

Sizing up your Wardrobe Options

The space you have available to accommodate your wardrobe is one of the key decisions when choosing your preferred option. When measuring up the possible locations in your bedroom, make sure you measure the maximum space available. The most common oversight we see is people not taking into consideration the skirting board. The bottom of the wardrobe is normally one of its wider dimensions and the skirting board on either side of an alcove can make it one of the smaller dimensions.
People with sloping ceilings should also take into consideration the height of the wardrobe. With loft conversions becoming a great way for people to expand the useable space of their house, the increase in demand for smaller wardrobes has increased dramatically over the last few years.

These wardrobes are often referred to as children's wardrobes however this is often the ideal solution for a smaller space under an angled ceiling. See some of our smaller wardrobes selection here. It is also worth making sure the advertised dimensions are the absolute maximum dimensions of your wardrobe. Often wardrobes are larger at the base or top especially when they have an ornate top or feet. It's imperative to measure the access to your bedroom as tight stairwells and corners can sometimes cause problems. If you are unsure always check with your nearest store about the size of individual components.

Another useful tip when deciding on the layout and therefore size of the wardrobe you would like is to cut plans out of joined up pieces of newspaper and place them in the potential sites for your items. There are obvious limitations to this method but it can prove useful when space is tight and you are trying to fit a number of free standing items in your room. When deciding where your furniture will be positioned, something that is often overlooked, is allowing enough space to open wardrobe doors.
In our wardrobe´s catalogue Spazio + opens your imagination to a place you thought did not exist. With a new line of swing door wardrobes and sliding door wardrobes The costumer can chooses the right size, adapting to the needs of each client space. A program that combines a wide range of folding beds. Building and optimizing the sleeping area.

Several tips that you must consider before you buy a furniture.

Baby Bedroom From Furniture Ros
When we talk about children and youth furniture, we have to take into account the environment and the space, and the furniture´s adaptation to small spaces, which is the case of many homes today. Our worry is to design free environments in small spaces. In 1974, Mr R.H. Smith already warned that larger spaces in children´s rooms favor greater motor activity in children, activate their creative, behavior, physical contact and their verbal communication.
Materials. Always look for furniture which have been approved by the EEC, it just not only guarantees the quality, durability and wear resistance of the furniture, it also avoid unnecessary concern or unaware of what kind of materials have been use in its manufacturation, therefore you will prevent accidents, adverse reactions or allergic diseases which may cause to our children.
The proper thickness of the wardrobe will guarantee durability and resistance to deterioration. We recall that we speak about our children, therefore the furniture is exposed to the antics of our little ones.
Bases well constructed will always have strength and stability, avoiding unnecessary accidents or landslides.
Kids Bedroom From Furniture Ros
Price is important when buying a wardrobe, but they are also measures that influence the degree of storage capacity. Its interior, it is not the same if it comes with integrated drawers and shelves or it comes empty. Beware! sometimes the price fool you!
Always look for a furniture which has a faithful commitment to the environment, a furniture which respect the environment, in its conception and creation. Look for distinctive certificates in its commiment with the environment.
Social responsibility. It is important that we ensure to all the fixed assets have a trace which is socially responsible.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Why This International Day?:Violence against women is a human rights violation
Violence against women is a consequence of discrimination against women, in law and also in practice, and of persisting inequalities between men and women
Violence against women impacts on, and impedes, progress in many areas, including poverty eradication, combating HIV/AIDS, and peace and security
Violence against women and girls is not inevitable. Prevention is possible and essential
Violence against women continues to be a global pandemic.

"I welcome the chorus of voices calling for an end to the violence that affects an estimated one in three women in her lifetime. I applaud leaders who are helping to enact and enforce laws and change mindsets. And I pay tribute to all those heroes around the world who help victims to heal and to become agents of change ."

Universal Children's Day. 20th of November

photo Amozoncares
Nearly 25 years ago, the world made a promise to children: that we would do everything in our power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow, to make their voices heard and to reach their full potential. In spite of the overall gains, there are many children who have fallen even further behind. Old challenges have combined with new problems to deprive many children of their rights and the benefits of development.

To meet these challenges, and to reach those children who are hardest to reach, we need new ways of thinking and new ways of doing - for adults and children.

Where Should My Baby Sleep?

We are new parents and we have a sea of questions, including where will our baby sleep the first months? in a cot, crib, bassinet, co-sleeping?. At the end the decision is your. It is okay to seek advice  but a lot of information can made things get messy. A very wise choice for the first months is a bassinet.

It has a small size, so you can move it anywhere, facilitating breastfeeding and it can be situate near to the parents' bed. Moreover, it is the best way to transition from the womb to the cradle.

But, Until what age is recommended that our baby sleep in a bassinet? With the main premise of child safety, experts advise that the baby sleep in a bassinet from birth to six months of age.

Do not extend the period beyond six months as their mobility is becoming much greater, also increasing the risk of a possible fall from the bassinet.

You can see in the photo that one of our bassinet
 becomes table too

Some tips to keep in mind when choosing the bassinet for babies are:

The edges should be high, at least 27.5 cm.

The sides and the inside  should be padded.
The bottom should be flat and firm to hold their body well.
Bassinet clothes should be removable and washable.
The wheels are useful to move the cribs, but keep in mind you have a blockage sytem.
The mattress is one of the fundamental parts, the mattress should be breathable and firm, allowing proper rest o the newborn.

October 28, the International Animation Day

It was proclaimed in 2002 by the ASIFA as the main global event to celebrate the art of animation. This day commemorates the first public performance of Charles-Émile Reynaud's Théâtre Optique at the Grevin Museum in Paris, 1892. In 1895, the Cinematograph of the Lumière brothers outshone Reynaud's invention, driving Émile to bankruptcy.
However, his public performance of animation entered the history of optical entertainments as shortly predating the camera-made movies.

We also do animation in our convertible cots. In this animation we explain the process of conversion of a convertible cot to a bed. An evolution from the baby's room to the child's room, all with one furniture, meeting the needs for the first Kid´s 10 years. We grow with your children. www.ros1.com

CoSleeping. Sharing Sleep With Your Newborn

Sleeping with your baby is the most natural and wonderful thing to do. Yes it may put off the transition to his own bed but I assure you it'll happen way before he is 8. There is as much research that a child is less likely to have SIDS when sleeping with Mom. Make sure your blanket and pillows are away from your son. Babies don't need pillows and you might have to sacrifice your blanket but it's worth it. Your baby was inside of you, cozy, protected, warm and with the sound of your heartbeat for 9 months. Doesn't it make sense he would sleep better next to your warmth, your smell, your heartbeat? There is research that shows both baby and Mother sleep better together, connected physiologically they fall into the same breathing patterns. As far as letting your baby cry - why is it ok to teach a 2 week old about loneliness? Babies cry to communicate, why teach your baby that when he cries, no one will be there for him? Enjoy your baby try to follow his lead and follow your heart.

In furniture Ros we offer you this functional CoSleeping Cot, once your baby is a child, in can be used as a small desk.

Choosing a Bunk Bed for your children

If you are looking for kids bunk beds, you will be happy to see so many choices we have in Furniture Ros. But then comes the time to choose, and to start narrowing it down to the one bunk bed that fits, and the choices may seem confusing.

Things to Consider

A very important feature that you need to consider before buying a bunk bed is safety. Make sure that the bunk bed you are buying complies with all safety regulations so that you can minimize the risk of injuries.
Consider your own and your child's needs.
Consider the child's age.
Consider how many children will be sharing the room, or whether your child often has friends who sleep over.
Depending on your needs take a look at the different kinds of bunk beds on our catalogue. Most bunk beds do not come with mattresses, so follow the manufacturer's recommendations in that regard.

New convertible crib for twins "Duo"

Today we present you  the new convertible crib for twins and its multiple possibilities.
In 2010 we made the innovative twin convertible crib, it was a success, and helped us to continue developing new ideas that have led to this new model.
In Ros furniture, not only we do the design, you do too. This crib is the result of the effort and imagination of our designer, but also thanks to your opinions. Several parents told us that if we could make a convertible crib for twins which become a bunk bed.

We listened that and we went to work, we did not want to do it without the second option to convert the crib also into two beds also, without forgetting the need of space that other parents had told us. So we offer two options of conversions.

The result is the Convertible Crib for twins "Duo" in the photo with wardrobe, table desk, shelf and textile accessories. It has two possible conversions: Two beds 90x190 or a bunk bed with two beds of 90 x 190. It is a patented product.

Convertible Crib "Elegance"

One of the new convertible cribs presented in our new catalog is the  Convertible Crib "Elegance". Because your baby deserves the best. Therefore, we studied for the each of our new cribs, not only the design but also its functionality, comfort and safety.

Example of this study is the new convertible crib "Elegance", there is a path where design intersects with sobriety, elegance, functionality and security, that is the case of the new convertible crib "Elegance; including drawers and shelves on one side of the crib, and at the bottom there is another drawer or the option of putting another bed with its mattress.

Once converted into bed, you just have to remove the drawers and the bed surface is larger. Put another mattress and you have a proper bed for when the your baby has become a child. The back and shelves will made a beautiful desk,  which, of course, it combines with the bed.

2014 Theme: Ozone Layer Protection: The Mission Goes On

photo Nacho S Bravo
In 1994, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date of the signing, in 1987, of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (resolution 49/114).

States were invited to devote the Day to promote activities in accordance with the objectives of the Protocol and its amendments. The ozone layer, a fragile shield of gas, protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun, thus helping preserve life on the planet.

In Furniture Ros we use biodegradable paint. Two-component polyurethane varnishes to water produced and sold by ICA Spa. These varnishes are the result of technological innovation project by LIFE, funded by the European Commission for its important efforts in environmental protection.

Another important project that we have done is the EcoInnovation CONVERTIBLE COT-BED Project. Pioneering project in Spain, where Ros1 and another four companies (not from the furniture industry), carried out a study with the CENFIM, Centre of Technological Diffusion of Fusta i Moble de Catalunya, the USC University of Santiago de Compostela and the ICTA, L'Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals. A laborious project, focusing on the environmental study on the life cycle of a convertible crib bed, in the case of Ros1. The study covers the life cycle of production of the convertible crib bed, including energy consumption and production of various elements used in its manufacture. About transport, it is considered as a set, that includes the transport of raw materials to the factory, the final transportation to the shop, to the point of use or home, and the transport to the rubish disposal. The project aims to incorporate the best available techniques and clean technologies to the production process of the the Second Transformation companies of the timber industry, minimizing the CO2 emissions to reduce their environmental impact and get greater efficiency consumption of raw materials and reducing waste generated in timber companies.
